What to expect at Wood Bar

Opposite from Nana Plaza, a popular red light area of Bangkok, you’ll find Sukhumvit Soi 7. This neon-lit alley is filled with bars and nightlife entertainment. Walk about 5 minutes down the street and you’ll stumble across Wood Bar’s terrace, most likely with uniformed girls sitting.

Upon making your presence known, you’ll be escorted into the viewing area with two large couches. You’ll take a seat on one couch whilst all the girls on shift will enter the room and take a seat on the couch opposite. This may be a few, or more than 30. The manager will let you know the prices of the girls, marked by their outfit. The vast majority of girls will be 1,000 THB which is advertised as a blowjob in a private room for up to 20 minutes. Once you have selected the girl of choice, you’ll take her hand and walk to the counter where you’ll pay in cash and be offered a drink. Drinks are not mandatory, but do add to the experience – prices are extremely reasonable with most drinks around 120 THB.  

Once paid your girl will lead you up the stairs into an area where she’ll grab her personal work bag – a bag filled with essentials such as towels, mouthwash, and lube – before finding an empty private room. These rooms are small and very basic, with a leather arm chair and a wash station. 

You will be instructed to remove your clothing and stand by the wash station, where your girl will wash your cock with soap and water. Once done she’ll dry you off, place a towel on the leather chair, and ask you to sit down.

If you’re lucky your girl may remove her top before kneeling on the floor in front of you and starting the service. Expect a lot of licks and kisses to your body before she gets to the main show. Sit back, grab your beer, and enjoy the show. 

Is Wood Bar the best BJ bar in Bangkok?

If you don’t count massage parlours which will offer handjobs or blowjobs as an extra, there are actually only a handful of venues which focus on the unique Pink Salon concept. 

These venues are very transparent with their pricing, which is fantastic news. When I visited in 2025, uncovered blowjobs were 800 THB or 1,000 THB depending on the girl you pick (usually older and/or larger girls are cheaper). There’s not a huge difference, but Wood Bar does have the cheapest prices compared to other similar venues.

It is difficult to get a blowjob elsewhere in Bangkok for under 1,000 THB; bar girls may agree to this but you’d have to also pay a bar fine, and even freelancers on the street may push for 1,500 THB to come with you. The pricing of Wood Bar is extremely good value for money.

If you want the cheapest blowjob in Bangkok then Wood Bar is the place to go. It’s not always about the money though. Wood Bar is not the classiest of venues and struggles to feel erotic, with a cheap and run-down vibe inside. To some, this may be off-putting and some of the more expensive providers have much nicer premises. 

In terms of girls, it’s always going to be a mix in terms of looks. You’d be amazed at how many girls work at the bar, with multiple shifts throughout the day and always new girls, almost guaranteeing a huge variety to pick from. However, you should be aware that blowjob bars usually hire older girls and not always the prettiest in Thailand. This shouldn’t come as a surprise though – a girl who is willing to do this line of work and is young and stunning is much more likely to work in soapy massage parlours where they can charge 2,000-4,000 THB, or Agogo bars where they can command 3,000-5,000 THB for a short-time.

Wood Bar is a 30 second walk from the Nana BTS (Sky Train) station, on the opposite side of the road to the Nana Plaza ‘adult playground’. The neon-filled alley of bars is just off the very popular and busy Sukhumvit Road.

My experience at Park 118 brothel

Greeted by a friendly receptionist, you’ll pay the entrance fee and be given two towels, slippers and a locker key.

Making your way into a changing area you can get undressed and ready for a shower, one towel for drying and the other for wrapping around your waist. 

There are then two corridors to choose from. One takes you through to the dining hall, where a buffet is provided with multiple options. I found the meals at FKK Mainhattan to be absolutely brilliant, very well cooked and tasted fantastic. The other corridor takes you through to the main bar.

The bar, which is non-smoking, will provide you with free softdrinks during your stay. Beyond that is the lounge with large flatscreen TVs playing sports. In the adjacent room is the wellness center with saunas, leading out to the large private courtyard with outside seating an swimming pool.

A relaxed atmosphere and small club, the girls at FKK Mainhattan can be found lounging around on the sofas or on bar stools around the venue. Staying true to FKK routes, the girls at FKK Mainhattan are always completely naked except for high heels. 

After picking a girl you like, you are taken to one of the many private rooms. I found these to be clean, comfortable and equipped for a good time.

Overall it’s a relaxed, welcoming and clean environment. 

What are the girls like at FKK Mainhattan?

There are usually 10-20 ladies working at FKK Mainhattan at any one time, which feels like plenty for the size of the club.

The vast majority of the girls at FKK Mainhattan are Romanian and in their 20s and early 30s. They all speak perfect English, with good understanding of other languages including Japanese.

When I have visited on multiple occasions I have found the girls to be very attractive, most with very slender bodies. There is a good selection to choose from depending on your personal preference; from girl next door type with natural features and glasses, to girls with tattoos and fake tits.

There is a relaxed atmosphere at FKK Mainhattan, whereby the girls tend to not bother customers unless they are approached first. In many ways this is refreshing, however some girls can come off as bored and uninterested as they simply wait to be chosen. 

After some private fun with two girls at Mainhattan, I was invited to sit with them at the bar for the rest of my stay. We had good conversations and genuine banter, making it a wonderful social experience rather than simply a transactional one.

As a smaller club there is huge benefits to visiting more than once. On my second visit to FKK Mainhattan I was greeted with tight hugs from the girls I’d previously spent time with, and warm smiles from other girls who recognised me. These ladies really know how to cultivate relationships with their customers, which is different to what you’ll find in other FKK clubs.

How much does sex cost at FKK Mainhattan?

The ladies at FKK Mainhattan are self-employed and set their own rates, however as a general rule the girls do collaborate to keep pricing fairly consistent across the club. This prevents girls from dramatically under-cutting each other and provides the customers with a better experience. 

As of 2022 and based on my personal experience, the majority of the girls working in Mainhattan will charge €50 for 30 minutes, which can include oral and sex with a condom. For €100 you can often get 30 minutes of oral without a condom and sex with a condom. 

Extras are not always guaranteed at FKK clubs, and almost always cost more unless you have a prior relationship with the girl. I have found the girls at FKK Mainhattan to be very open. Extras can include kissing, cum in mouth, anal or even extra time. Generally, offering €50 per extra requested is standard.

Every girl I spent time with at Mainhattan was not only open to kissing, but enthusiastic to provide this as an extra and seemed to genuinely enjoy providing a girlfriend experience, as opposed to the porn star experience most paid sex workers default to. 

FKK Artemis or FKK Mainhattan?

If you are on a sex vacation and looking to visit multiple FKK sauna clubs, or perhaps you are trying to decide which is the right one for you, I have compared the key differences between two popular FKK sex clubs in Germany.

FKK Artemis is based in Berlin and is a massive club compared to FKK Mainhattan in Frankfurt. It is more expensive to enter, but it has more facilities on offer. With more girls available comes more competition, so you are more likely to be approached rather than left alone to relax. Read my full review of FKK Artemis.

FKK Mainhattan is a much smaller club with fewer facilities, and is therefore cheaper. There is a much more relaxed atmosphere and girls are not pushy towards customers. The non-smoking rule also allows people to feel relaxed, if this is not their thing.

Is it worth visiting FKK Mainhattan?

Mainhattan is a fantastic little club with welcoming and friendly staff, sexy young ladies, and decent facilities for the entry price.

I have brilliant memories from my times at FKK Mainhattan, including my first ever threesome, and found the girls to genuinely enjoy spending their time with me.

How do I get to FKK Mainhattan?

Whilst there are several FKK sauna clubs in Frankfurt, FKK Mainhattan is one of the easiest to get to using public transport.

The easiest way to get to FKK Mainhattan is by tram. Simply get on the number 11 or number 14 tram, which runs directly through the city center, with stops outside many major tourist attractions. These trams run every 7 minutes.

You can also get the tram from outside the main train station, Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbanhof. It should take roughly 30 minutes from the station to the Frankfurt (Main) Daimlerstraße stop.

Once at Daimlerstraße, get off the tram and walk back on yourself, turning left down the first road you see. Follow this road all the way down through the industrial estate, past all the factories and trucking units. It’s only about a 5 minute walk from the tram stop when you will see the FKK Mainhattan signage.

It might not look very enticing on the outside, with the building being a former storage depot, but through the doors of Artemis in Berlin any man will find himself in absolute heaven. 

What is Artemis in Berlin?

Artemis is one of the largest brothels in Germany, a country where prostitution is completely legal. The huge building, which is four stories, can house up to 70 sex workers and 600 customers. It is set up as a wellness club, with numerous amenities for male customers to relax and enjoy when not paying to spend time with the working ladies.

The brothel is categorised as an FKK, a type of sex club for men which can be found across Germany and Austria. There is usually an entry fee which covers free food, soft-drinks and unlimited use of the on-site wellness facilities such as saunas, swimming pools, and relaxation areas. You will feel like a roman emperor walking through Artemis, with lavish marble, sculptures, columns, red velvet sofas and painted murals throughout. 

Downstairs customers will find the ‘wellness centre’ which comprises of a large indoor swimming pool, a sauna, plunge pool, a bar, non-sexual massage service (extra charge), a fully equipped gym, and a dark cinema playing non-stop porn.

On the ground level are the main changing areas and showers, the money exchange area, and a large bar and lounge where the majority of the girls can be found. At the back of the bar is the dining hall and doors to the outside patio and swimming pool.

Upstairs, which can only be reached if escorted by one of the ladies, is full of bedrooms which is where the fun can happen.

The fourth floor is out of bounds to customers, as this is where many of the women live and relax when not working.

What to expect in FKK Artemis, Berlin

Upon entering the Artemis mega brothel you’ll be welcomed by a friendly receptionist. After paying the fee, you’ll be given a robe and an electronic key which provides access to both a clothes locker and money locker.

The price for entry is €90 and gives you access from 11am to 5am, even if you wish to leave the premises and come back. Included in this price is the buffet meals, unlimited soft-drinks, robe and shoes hire, unlimited towels and complete access to the facilities. The only things you will need to pay extra for is alcohol, professional massages, and private time with the girls.

Walk up the steps directly behind reception and find your mini locker, a small box which is designed to house your phone and cash. This area is where money exchange happens with the ladies after each session. You can then walk into the changing room and find your clothes/bag locker. Remove all your clothes and lock them away, grab a fresh towel and shoes, then have a shower using the gel provided.

Tip: Press the flat black square on the wall to make the shower work – despite what it looks like, it’s not a sensor!

Once you’re all fresh you have the choice of entering the main bar area where your senses will go into overload as you’ll be greeted by a sea of beautiful naked women sitting and standing around, many of whom will welcome you with a smile. You can get a free soft-drink from the bar, or treat yourself to an alcoholic beverage, then take a seat and enjoy the view as you search for a girl that suits your fancy. 

If you see a girl you like, simply walk up to her if she’s alone and introduce yourself. Alternatively, if you simply sit alone you’ll likely be approached as the ladies outrageously flirt with you in the hopes of becoming your playmate.

The lady will escort you to the location of choice – be sure to savour the incredible view as she walks in front. One of the best things about FKK clubs in Germany is enjoying being in the company of gorgeous and naked women. Whilst it’s important not to be creepy and always be respectful, it’s absolutely ok to look and even provide compliments to the ladies. If you are looking for any extras during your time, such as kissing, cunnilingus, finger insertion or anal you should expect to pay significantly more. It’s important to note that extras are not offered by all girls and any request can be denied. 

Prices can be negotiated, but generally this is not a good idea as you can easily offend the sex workers. If you are unsure on what is offered for the proposed price it’s important to ask – there is no need to be shy – the girls working in Artemis are professionals and have heard everything before.

For the most part you should never ask for a refund, especially if the expected service could not be provided due to erectile disfunction, premature ejaculation, or not being able to cum within the timeframe. With sex work it’s just a fact that sometimes will be better than others. If you have a significant problem with a lady you can respectfully and politely raise it with her, and there is always the potential to raise issues to Artemis management, however the ladies are not employed by Artemis so they may be unwilling to get involved.

What are the rules in FKK Artemis?

1. Be respectful

Be polite, kind and respectful of the ladies and staff at Artemis. Treat them as humans, not whores or robots. Be aware that the girls are there to make money, so allow them to pursue other customers if you are not paying for her time. Be mindful to clear up after yourself, such as in the dining hall and gym, and always place used towels in the laundry baskets. For obvious reasons, phones are strictly prohibited from the premises and must be kept in lockers. 

2. Always be hygienic

It’s an unwritten rule that customers of FKK clubs should shower before and after each sexual interaction, ensuring they are completely clean and fresh at all times. It’s also important to be presentable, which could include trimming pubic hair and clipping nails. You don’t have to be attractive to have fun at Artemis, but you should make an effort.

3. Play time only at pay time

Whilst touching the girls may be absolutely fine when you are in a session with them, this does not give you permission to touch before or after the session. Unless a girl invites you touch her when not in a session, it is usually best not to. If in doubt, ask… consent is sexy!

4. No means No

Every working girl at Artemis, and in any similar establishment, has the right to refuse service without giving a reason. If a lady says no you should respect this, or expect to be thrown out of the club. This goes both ways – if you tell a girl no at Artemis she should respect that.

5. Safe sex only

Condoms are provided by the sex workers and the use of such is a non-negotiable for penetrative sex. Never ask for bareback sex at Artemis – doing so could result in you getting kicked out of the club without refund. The ladies at Artemis respect their health, and you should respect yours too.

How do I get to Artemis FKK in Berlin?

Although Artemis is on the edge of Berlin, in an industrial area, it is very easy to get to using public transportation. 

I strongly recommend using the S-Bahn, the over-ground rapid railway service within Berlin’s city centre. You need to get off at the Westkreuz station. There is a direct train which takes just 13 minutes from Berlin’s central station (Berlin Hauptbahnhof). One way tickets are usually only a couple of euros – be sure to validate your ticket before getting on though or risk a fine!

Once you get off at Westkreuz, walk out of the station and through the car-park. You’ll cross over a bridge and start walking down a path adjacent to a busy road. Keep walking, following the path for less than 5 minutes. You will not be able to miss Artemis, the large white concrete block with a large carpark out front and big signage.

Local taxis are very familiar with the area and will be able to pick you up no matter how late it is, whereas the S-Bahn does not run 24 hours a day. If in doubt, ask the friendly receptionist.

Is Artemis Berlin worth visiting?

As one of Germany’s largest brothels (more than 4,000m²) and arguably the most famous, Artemis does have a premium compared to other FKK sex clubs across the country.

At €90 entry you’ll want to spend as much of the day there as possible to make the most of your money, but the facilities are fantastic in allowing you to do just that. With the indoor pool there’s no need to worry about the weather, the fully equipped gym is brilliant if you enjoy fitness, and there are plenty of dark corners to get away from everyone (including the girls) and be alone.  

Artemis in Berlin attracts prostitutes from around the world. I met stunning young girls from Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy and the Dominican Republic. If you’re looking to ‘collect the flags’ then Artemis is a great place to do just that. 

The price of sex is very fair for Germany. There is a slight premium, but you cannot compare the experience to a German Laufhaus, and I actually found the price of oral sex without condom slightly lower than other locations.

Due to there being so many girls working at Artemis at any one time, they are much more competitive than what you’ll experience in smaller FKKs in Germany. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as it’s quite nice to be flirted with without making the first move. However be aware that this isn’t the ‘chill vibe’ that you might get in other clubs.

The food at FKKs is generally really good and Artemis is no exception. You can have at least two decent meals during your stay at the club, with snacks throughout if you choose.

Overall I would absolutely recommend Artemis. It’s a must for any man – it truly is heaven on earth… everything you could possibly want under one roof.

Walk down certain streets and you’ll find scantily clad women behind glass windows, illuminated by a red hue, trying to get your attention to receive a paid sexual service of your choice. History of Amsterdam’s Red Light District

Amsterdam’s Red Light District, or ‘De Wallen’ as the area is known to locals, is the oldest district of Amsterdam – the capital city of The Netherlands. It was built around 1385 and has been notorious for the women inhabiting its streets ever since. 

In the early 14th and 15th centuries Amsterdam was a trading city with a large port. This brought thousands of sailors to roam the streets of De Wallen, looking for enjoyment in both beer and women. 

Although selling sex was originally legal, this changed at the end of the 16th century as Amsterdam became Protestant and the new city council forbade prostitution. Although  politicians made many threats to the men who bought sex and the ladies who sold it, the threats proved to only be verbal. As such, Amsterdam’s Red Light District became rampant with an estimated one thousand prostitutes in the 17th century.

The occupation of the Netherlands by the troops of Napoleon from 1795 onwards saw a new phase of the Red Light District. Lavishly furnished brothels opened up, recognised by the red coloured lanterns by the doors. Napoleon legalized prostitution, although to help fight the sexually transmitted diseases which were becoming rife, sex workers had to be medically tested twice a week by the police and given a red working card if they were healthy.

As Christian movements got a tighter grip on Dutch society at the end of the 19th century, there was a lot of political pressure to oppose prostitution. Whilst prostitution remained legal overall, a new rule was made and enforced by police… women must not entice their clients from inside doorways. To combat this, an increasing number of prostitutes stood from behind a window, tapping on the glass to seduce men passing by. This is how Amsterdam’s Red Light District Sex Windows have come to be.

Today, more than 7,000 prostitutes work in Amsterdam with 2,000 – 3,400 of these working in the windows.

Is Prostitution Legal in Amsterdam’s Red Light District?

Prostitution is legal throughout The Netherlands, but Amsterdam’s Red Light District in De Wallen is the most famous area for it. Anyone over the age of 18 can legally visit a prostitute. Sexual relations with minors under the age of 16 is illegal.

There are regulations set out by the City of Amsterdam and sex workers are obliged to follow these. In the Red Light District of Amsterdam anyone over the age of 21 with a legal European passport or green card can become a prostitute. All prostitutes must register with the Dutch Chambers of Commerce and do an ‘intake interview’ with the brothel operator to ensure they’re independent enough to be working. Prostitutes in The Netherlands are considered self-employed and have to pay taxes just like anyone else.

An existing and designated prostitution window must be hired, usually at the cost of €150 for a 10 hour shift. There are approximately 400 windows found for prostitution, the majority of those are in the Red Light District.

How much does sex cost in Amsterdam Red Light District?

The ‘starting price’ for sex in the Red Light District is usually €50, although expect this to increase to €70 – €150 if you want to touch the prostitute, have her remove her top, or try multiple positions. 

It is extremely important to confirm with the sex worker exactly what you want before paying her. There is no need to be shy as open communication is the best way to ensure you pay a price you are happy with, for a service you want. Unfortunately many sex workers in De Wallen will take advantage of you by slapping on hidden costs which aren’t discussed beforehand. I was charged €50 simply to touch a prostitute’s breasts, because ‘touching’ had not been in the initial agreement.

There is no fixed rate for a prostitute in the Red Light District. The authorities do not interfere with the price of prostitution visits. Prostitutes are self-employed and set their own rates. Price agreements are made between the prostitute and the customer.

How much money do prostitutes in Amsterdam make?

More than 2,000 men visit a prostitute every day in De Wallen alone, both tourists and regular customers. There is never a shortage of clients for sex workers to see.

Successful sex workers in Amsterdam entertain up to 16 customers per 10 hour shift and work 4-6 days a week. At a minimum price of €50, that’s roughly €2,800 – €3,900 earnings per week after paying for the room. Condoms, lube and beauty products come out of their own pockets, although much of this is tax deductible. 

Sex workers in Amsterdam can easily make more than €100,000 per year, which is a major reason why girls from around Europe happily relocate to work in the Amsterdam windows. 

Do Prostitutes in Amsterdam’s Red Light District Enjoy Their Work?

It is impossible to give an unequivocal statement about whether sex workers in Amsterdam enjoy their work or not. For many prostitutes, having sex with their clients is just another day of work. 

Many prostitutes in Amsterdam do claim to actively enjoy their work, and this is a major factor for why the average prostitute stays in the profession for five years. These women enjoy making themselves look beautiful, getting attention from strangers, making people happy, and of course making fantastic money compared to other jobs.

Sex work in Amsterdam is designed to be as safe as possible for the women, with heavy police presence in the Red Light District and private security, panic buttons in the rooms, other sex workers nearby, and a local authority which continuously investigate and inspect the working conditions of prostitutes. Suspected forced prostitution is take extremely seriously in The Netherlands, with customers and prostitutes alike actively encouraged to anonymously call ‘crimestoppers’ if they suspect illegal activity.

In recent years politicians have discussed limiting or relocating the Red Light District, to which sex workers in Amsterdam have been very outspoken about how happy they are in their work and how much they don’t want it to change.

Top 10 Tips For Visiting Amsterdam’s Sex Workers

1. Do not take photographs or film

De Wallen is a strictly no camera zone, especially if pointed towards a sex worker. There are plain clothed security working close-by who will happily throw your camera into the canal. 

2. Do not tap or spit on the windows

The sex workers in Amsterdam are people and deserve to be treated as such. If you are not interested in buying services, simply keeping moving on.

3. Be respectful towards the women

If you are kind and polite to the women, they will reciprocate. There is no need to be rude. 

4. Do not peek through the cracks in the curtains

If the curtains are closed then privacy is required. It is extremely rude to try and see what’s happening behind the curtain, and you could find yourself in trouble with security if you do this.

5. Do not stand in front of the doors or windows

Stopping and staring is not only rude, it can be taken as intimidating behavior by the authorities. Keep the alleyways clear to allow the women to work unobstructed.

6. Discuss beforehand what is and is not permitted & pay in advance

The Amsterdam prostitutes will require payment upfront. Never ask for a refund or expect a discount for a service which didn’t happen because it was not clearly discussed.

7. Never have unprotected sex

The women in De Wallen are not allowed to have sex without a condom. Even asking is considered highly offensive and will likely get you instantly kicked out.

8. Be hygenic (clean, well-groomed, sober)

Whilst it’s ok to have a few drinks first, do not enter the windows drunk. You should also ensure you’re recently showered, have decent smelling breath and pubic hair is kept under control. 

9. Call the police if you suspect force or coercion

Amsterdam has a zero tolerance approach to forced prostitution. If you suspect this is happening you are encouraged to call the police, or crimestoppers anonymously. 

10. Aggression is not tolerated

If the girl feels threatened in the slightest, she is entitled to ask you to leave. If you do not, she could use a panic alarm and call for nearby security. Always be polite and respectful.
